This coffee comes from Tamiru Tadesse Coffee, a specialty coffee producer working in the highlands of Sidama, Ethiopia. Tamiru Tadesse has built a reputation for producing distinctive, high-scoring coffees from some of the highest coffee-growing areas in the country, with a focus on careful harvesting, processing, and lot separation.
Grown between 2400 and 2550 masl, this coffee comes from an exceptionally high-altitude environment. The cool temperatures at these elevations significantly slow the maturation of the coffee cherries, extending the period in which the sugars, acids, and aromatic compounds develop within the fruit. Combined with Ethiopia's naturally diverse coffee-growing ecosystem, these conditions contribute to the pronounced fruit character and floral complexity often found in high-elevation Ethiopian coffees.
